MedTech improvements align a 150-year-old researched clinical treatment to 2019 commissioning guidelines

eXroid Technology has introduced to the UK a well-established, NICE approved, direct current electrotherapy treatment option for all grades of internal haemorrhoids/piles.

To date, the treatment program which eXroid has introduced to the UK with its MedTech technology equipment has successfully delivered over 3000 treatments, by GMC registered Consultants, in CQC registered clinics throughout the UK.

Haemorrhoids are very common, affecting as many as 1 in 4 of the population and resulting in a significant community and hospital practice burden. Over 60,000 haemorrhoidal procedures are carried out in on the NHS the UK each year. Treatment options for haemorrhoids are varied but they all carry risks of bleeding, pain and protracted recovery periods.

These risks have forced thousands of patients to postpone taking remedial action and has in turn created a huge demand for an alternative treatment. eXroid is pioneering to address this need here in the UK with its Direct Current Electrotherapy procedure.

To-date the eXroid treatment has proved to be effective, virtually painless, and an exceptionally safe out-patient therapy for all grades of internal Haemorrhoids.

What you need to know about eXroid’s treatment:

a) The treatment normally takes up to 30 minutes to complete. It is the ideal out-patient therapy because the majority of patients are able to resume normal activities the same day.

b) It is fully ambulatory, requiring no anaesthesia and no bowel prep.

c) It is non-invasive, there is no cutting and no needles.

d) There is little or no discomfort during the treatment and in all the reported trials, 90% of the patient sampled, found the procedure to be painless.

e) It is currently not available through the NHS, but it is a NICE approved treatment (IPG525 for grades 1-3) which is covered by major insurance companies.

It is important to emphasise that eXroid support staff are fully trained in handling all enquiries in a discreet and confidential manner, which is essential given the very personal nature of the condition.

Which is why the eXroid treatment offers a major advantage over alternative treatments in that there will be a minimal disruption to a patient’s normal routine.

This can be a debilitating and demoralising condition. eXroid also want to acknowledge the hard work of our NHS staff and are therefore offering a discount of 10% on treatments for all NHS staff.

To claim your discount, for more information, to book an appointment or refer a patient then please visit www.exroid.com or call 0800 999 3777 and quote NHS along with your NHS email address.
